Photo shoot at Sears
Cash is only 6 weeks old and I have already taken him to Hill Photography and Sears to have his picture made. I can't help it. He's only this little for a short time, and everyone knows what a photoholic I am. I mean, one of my pregnancy projects was to scan and organize (hard copies and digitally) ALL of mine and Clint's pictures. I also scanned tons of pics from my mom and grandmothers. Anyway, I thought these pics at Sears turned out great!
Visit to Chester County and my office
Sweet Judge McKenzie just came right in and scooped Cash up from Jeanette to hold him. How sweet!
Anita and Cash
Melissa and Cash (I somehow managed to get to the office on a day when half of them were gone! Oh well, I'll be back to work in three weeks so they will see plenty of me). Boo that I have to go back and leave my kiddo.
And after being passed around all day, he was worn slap out and napped for like five hours!

Cash's first dip in the pool
We finally decided it was time to dip the little fella....the water temperature today was 88 degrees, and we waited until about 8 PM to take him out because it is simply too hot during the day right now. He seems to like the water!
Cash's Nursery
The lighting didn't turn out so great I guess because I had the curtains closed, but you get the picture! Lots of blue and brown, and all the artwork you see is by my BFF Sarah Strong Morris of Bee-Vine Creations. She is so fabulous!! Thanks again SS!
This wall is a lot bigger than I thought, so I have to find something to go on either side of this canvas. I'm thinking monkeys.
The furniture all came from Babytime. This particular canvas on top of the hutch was done by a girl I went to church with and my college roommate, Lesli Preaus Thomas. Such talented folks!

Happy Father's Day!!
Clint finally got that Wii game he's been lusting after.

Chickadee
The picture above is of me when I was a few months old, but it was this look (with my mouth wide open) that helped me get the nickname "Chickadee", which is what my grandfather, Major, still calls me to this day. Below, you see my son does the same thing!
Visit from Papaw and Mamaw
"Papaw" and "Mamaw" as they are currently calling themselves (who knows if it will stick), came to visit this past weekend. It was a quick trip, but we were glad to visit with them!

Sneak Peek
Here are a few of the portraits we had made at Hill Photography here in Jackson last week for Cash's newborn session. I am SO happy with how they turned out! I can't wait for my order to come in! Eddie and Connie Hill are incredibly talented photographers and I look forward to more sessions in the future!

Cash's favorite place to be
I do believe I am spoiling my child. His favorite place to be appears to be laying on his tummy on my chest. He doesn't always lay like this though of course. Sometimes putting him there is the only way I can get him to sleep!
Kelley bassinet
This bassinet has been in my family for over 60 years. Most everyone has slept in it. Kathy, Kim, Daddy, Chip, Sterling, Kelley, me, Klint, Grace and Drake, as well as our cousins Sharon and her kids. And now Cash. The mattress is a little soft so he naps in it in the living room sometimes. Very sentimental though!

The BG look
If you know my grandmother BG, then chances are you have seen this look on her face. Of course, not only does she do it, but her mother did it, my mom does it, and so do I! And now Cash....just pokes those lips out. It usually occurs while the subject is in deep thought.
Sleeping poses
Touchdown!! I know, every baby does it, but it's just too cute.
This little munchkin cannot keep his hands off his face. He even did this in the womb. Every time we went to look at him on the ultrasound, his hands were in his face.

Headed home....
Here's little Cash in his carseat and take-home outfit. It is a really cute outfit, and despite it being newborn size and him being so big, the outfit was still super big. Oh well, it's cute anyway!

More to come
I finally got around to posting a few pictures of Cash, and I have more to post. However, I have to quit for the evening and hopefully I will be able to resume tomorrow or this weekend and post more. We have his newborn pictures with Hill Photography in the morning, and I have to go get things ready for that. Here's hoping for a good night of sleep! HA!
Poor sweet baby in the NICU
Everything went normally until about 2 AM Saturday morning, and Cash was in the room with us and he would not eat. So, he was taken to the NICU after they determined he had low blood sugar. Let me just say that is the most upsetting thing to hear - that your new baby has been taken to the NICU. So here's my little man hooked up to all that stuff. Add to that the fact that I lost too much blood and had to have a blood transfusion, and it made for a pretty stressful hospital stay. I was not able to see my baby from 2 AM until 5 PM Saturday. It was awful.
By the time I got there though, Clint had the feeding and diapering down pat.
And here I am feeding him after I was finally able to get to him!
Proud parents
Here we are in the recovery room. I know, totally not the most flattering picture of me, but I was swelled up like a freakin balloon. Besides, fresh after giving birth, what woman looks perfect? Here I am with my sweet baby. He's a little puffy too.
And here's proud Daddy and Cash.
